Vettai is Arya all the way
A non-stop entertainer with all the masala ingredients to make a movie a hit is what Lingusamy has given on the Pongal platter. The story is said in a lighter vein and though we have seen such films earlier the movie runs on a fast pace where we do not have time to think of the pros and cons.
Thirumoorthy (Madhavan) and Gurumoorthy (Arya) are affectionate brothers who live with their police father. While Thiru is a timid boy, Guru is hardihood and helps his brother whenever he is in trouble. While the brother live a carefree life one day their father dies and Thiru’s is forced to become a policeman who is against taking up the job but finally gives in to the pressure of his younger brother. On the other side two sisters Vasanthi (Sameera Reddy) and Jayanthi (Amala Paul) pair up with the brothers.
Then enters the villain Ashutosh Rana who has complete control of Thoothukudi and even the police are scared of him. Now the story remains how the brothers put an end to the atrocities of the villain and the story is told in a gripping manner with all the elements of fun, romance, fights and songs in place.
Madhavan as a fainthearted brother was at his best while Arya as the harum-scarum youngster impresses with his fights, comedy and romance as usual. Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul do just their jobs, while Sameera seizes the audience with her acting, Amala impresses with her Barbie doll looks. Other noteworthy performances are by Naseer and Thambi Ramaiah.
The movie is a complete entertainer from the start to the end. The multi-starrer is sure to remain in the theatres for sometime now!
